Casey Donahew – Running Through My Head

From the smoke of rock and roll bars in Fort Worth to the light’s of Billy Bob’s Texas, The Casey Donahew Band has packed rodeo’s, dancehalls and bars all across this state. With wife (Melinda) spearheading management and booking for the band, Casey impressed the owners of Billy Bob’s enough to land a gig playing the legendary club where he’d attended so many shows as a fan himself. Within two years of his first show there, Casey was drawing nearly 4000 eager fans, and he’s never looked back since.

Donahew’s latest release (Double-Wide Dream), hit stores and itunes in October of this year and quickly became the #2 selling country album on itunes.  The title track “Double Wide Dream” co-written with JB Patterson (JB & The Moonshine Band), rings out a clever and light hearted  expression of the love of a man for his life long snuff queen. http://www.1061flipfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/300188_2241366879064_1394831517_32159217_1494247916_n.jpg

Despite the criticism that comes with success, Casey Donahew remains a progressive business man with a knack for making music and a wife/manager that will no doubt keep this band on the road and most likely sold out in the years to come.  According to Donahew, “There is an entertainment value to what we do, some songs are more serious than others. It’s easy to get cornered into; you know, these guys all they do is write songs about trailers and white trash”. Says Donahew. “Well that’s not all we do; it’s part of what we do, but not all of it. You know, I’m pretty sure Johnny Cash never really shot anybody in Folsom prison……”

It is a fast paced show geared toward keeping the audience’s attention and the dance floor full, and few do that better than the Casey Donahew Band.
