It’s that time of year when we all pack up the kids, fuel our vehicles and say things like, “Officer, I could have sworn I was only going 73″. Ok, maybe that’s just me, but I seriously doubt it. This year my family elected to stay home and await the arrival of Mr. Clause, while tracking him on the
NORAD. But in the years past we have taken the drive to my folks place in the mountains of New Mexico. Kinda glad we didn’t make the drive after hearing it took over 7 hours to make the 4 1/2 – 5 hour trek back home for my brothers family.
As the excitement of Christmas fades and the New Year approaches, we want to take a moment to encourage you to set New Years Resolutions and set them high and work hard to achieve them. Whether you are eating more Yak, getting your comma, problems under control, or doing something nice for someone else every day. We wish you the very best of luck in your endeavors.
This video is in response to those who say “Texas Country just isn’t Country enough… you know, there’s not enough George Strait or Garth Brooks or John Anderson” Jon Wolfe grew up in a small town in Oklahoma with country in his blood. Country became both a passion and a reality as he became a teenager. So much so that he left a career as a successful commodities trader in Houston to pursue his dream.
So for those who say we aren’t Country enough, I encourage you to watch the video above and try not to relate Jon’s voice to the likes of George, or even Kenny Chesney. And should you find a yearning for more there are two albums available. Jon’s first album “Almost Gone” released in 2004, was the foundation for a second album “It All Happened In A Honky Tonk”. The sophomore album is filled two-steppers from Wolfe and features a much more refined sound than the previous. Take a listen, and if you find yourself yearning for more just click on the lonestar music icon below.
Oh, and we wish you and yours a very prosperous new year!
